THEM The hallway was lit by small lamps mounted on the wall, illuminating the crimson carpet. The receptionist lead them to the furthest door from them. The inside was simple, same red carpet, with a white floral wallpaper. Two beds were the main feature of the room with a single chest of drawers in there middle. " I hope this is to your liking" she said humbly. " it's wonderful thank you." John said with a smile She inclined her head slightly and said " if you need anything I will be at the desk" She closed the door lightly. On their own they soon began to get settled. And after a brief pillow war to determine who would get which bed, they finally changed into dry clothes. They felt safe in the room, it was warm and light, and they soon found themselves drifting off to sleep. But not for long. Sarah woke, just under an hour later, her stomach growling loudly. She turned to see if she could guilt trip John into getting her some food, but he was gone. Confused she groggily got out of bed and shuffled to the door. A very different scene met her eyes. The only light came from her room, the rest of the hallway was pitch black. The once comforting red of the carpet now turning into a imposing dark colour. She spotted movement at the far end of the hallway and saw the shadowy figure of a man. From what she could tell he was facing away from her with his face looking down. But he suddenly turned, still not looking up. " oh sorry I didn't mean to disturb you, I was just looking for my friend" No response he just stood there silent and still. She decided to press the matter further. " have you seen him?" At this the figure became animated and started walking towards her. But his movements were slow and erratic. She quickly shut the door but was dismayed to find there was no lock. She retreated further into the corner of the room, looking for something to defend herself with. All the time the sound of the mans footsteps were drawing closer and closer. too soon he was right outside. He knocked twice loudly. " who are you" Sarah screamed No response The door opened but he remained in the darkness. " what do you want?" No response Still he waited at the threshold of light. " why are you doing this?" No response He stepped forward into the light He was still the dark silhouette of man, his face still looking down. Sarah screamed. He looked directly at her. It was John, his eyes completely blue. " I, am, sorry" The light in the room went out. Only darkness remained. Darkness tinted with two pairs of electric blue glowing eyes.
