War on the telly

War in the mind

War in the hearts of the people

Fear on the television

Fear in the galleries

The photos

The paintings

The people

War is the extension of our fear

Fear to be exposed

Fear to must explain

Fear to have to be us

Pain reigns on the telly

Pain rules in our hearts

Fear is not a factor

Fear keeps us alive

And we are just but soldiers

The ones who have to help

The people’ force us fighting

The ones that look on from afar

One day when all is finished

The day they say we/they’ve won

What use to me a purple heart

When I myself have none
