Fred and the Miserable Life

By John El-Deiry, October 22, 2011

Once upon a time there was a person named Fred. He was on a train coming from New York and was going to Philadelphia. He went to a museum and saw a restaurant but he forgot his wallet so he couldn’t buy anything. There was a hamburger that he wanted to eat so badly. He asked a person how much did it cost. The person said it was 10 dollars. He looked back and he found a wallet on the floor. He was going to pick it up but he fell on a banana peel. The person called the ambulance. He went to the hospital. He was fine.

He went back to the restaurant and looked at the wallet again. Then he was going to pick the wallet up again but he slipped on the banana peel again. So then he went to the hospital and then the ambulance took him to a hotel to rest. There was a chandelier. He looked at a bulb and he dropped it by accident. He was waving out the building because it was 6 AM. He dropped a bulb and a fire came. He was waiting for a fire truck and he fell off the window by accident and he hit a stone. It hurt a lot. But he found the wallet. The ambulance came and they took him to the hospital.

Fred had butter in his pocket and he put the wallet there but then the wallet fell. This guy walked up and took the wallet. Fred was so mad he got out of bed and went to follow the man into this black van. He sat on the seat and the wallet was there. There was this button that said 'massage' so he pressed it and then his chair went flying up into the sky. And then the wallet fell. The guy in the van caught it. The person in the van was going to call the police but Fred fell on the phone and broke it.

Fred went to a banana store. He walked up to a plastic banana and said “I’m not scared of you.” Then he walked up to a person and said “can I have some bananas” and the cashier said  “um, sure, that’ll be a dollar”. Fred said “Oh, dang it” because he didn’t have his wallet. He gave him a fake dollar that he found on the floor.

Then he took the bananas and he called a taxi and said “can I have a ride?” The taxi driver said “where do you want to go?” Fred said “can you drive me home?” and then the taxi driver said “what home?” Fred said “drive me to a hotel.” The driver said “what hotel?” Fred said “drive me to any hotel”. The driver said “OK”. The driver said “that will be 20 dollars.” Fred said ‘uh, sure” and he found a 20 dollar bill in the taxi and gave it to him. Then he drove him to a hotel called “Window Sill.” The hotel said they can stay there for free; if you work for the hotel owner and then you can get money. Then Fred said “OK, what do I do?” So the manager said “go clean the pool.” Fred said “OK” but then Fred did a bad job. He was taking the leaves out of the pool and then he dropped them in again. The manager said “you’re fired.” Fred thought in his head, my house is close to here, why can’t I just go there. Then Fred said to the manager “only if you drive me to 953 Tree Bark Road." The manager said “OK” and then the manager drove him there. When he went to his home and then he lived happily ever after.
