Those School Holidays.

The children laughing is a happy sound.

But beware, their toys are still on the ground.

To see them all together at play.

Makes for the start of a great day.

School holidays are with us again.

Oh please, please don’t let it rain.

Helmets on, there all on their bikes.

Even the littlies out on their trikes.

Playing touch football, or clowning around.

Help us keep their feet on the ground.

With their friends they gather in clumps.

Sharing with each other their bruises and bumps.

Well it’s over, the holidays are now past.

Thank goodness, it’s back to school at last.

With their school bags packed with their gear.

Catching the school bus is without fear.

Now school has been in for several weeks.

With the highs and lows coming in peaks.

Well they are missed, and I’m in pain.

I can’t wait for the holidays to start again.
