Walking along the cattle fence, I started teasing the one with the long horns. ''What are you going to do now? You can't get at me! The time is coming when I'l have you on my plate.''The cattle were brown and white, it came to the fence with its ugly beastly face, its horns curving downwards. I grabbed its right horn and said, ''I want beef! I want beef!'' Then I left and went down down the track. Two hundred meters down the track, I hear this roaring noise behind me. It was the long horn coming at me full speed. I ran to my left where there was a tree with a low branch. I grabbed the branch and tried to get up into the tree.
The long horn was there breathing heavily, and I too was out of breath. But my God! Was I lucky? That tree saved my life. I don't know what the long horn would have done with me. Maybe trample me underfoot. But I was now safe, and still had the breath in me to tease it. ''Snooty nose, go away, and leave me in peace. I will still have you on my plate.''
A couple others had joined it under the tree, and then I realized that the farmer was taking them back to the farm. He was way behind the herd. They passed my tree, and I waited a few minutes before I came down. As I did so, and started down the track, suddenly, there was that long horn staring at me from behind some shrubs. I hoped at that moment my feet were strong enough to stand the pace I would set. I lowered my head, and I was off.

The End.
