 Neighbor

A old man came to my door, one day,
Hung his head in a humble way,
And in a voice, mild and meek,
Asked me for something to eat.

Come in, my friend, and please sit down
I'll cook you up this steak I found
And while you eat, please share your woe
On how it is, you’ve come to my door

For, I must know what brought you here
Don't worry if you shed a tear.
And, have you had much suffering?
What can I do to ease your pain?

It’s then he spoke in a humble way
“My wife, she’s visiting far away
Mealtime came and I am shook,
Because, my friend, I just can’t cook”
