This is my first try on poetry in English, and I suck at poetry in Finnish (I'm Finnish) too. XD
Hope you like at least some of it, and please give me some feedback, I'd appreciate it :D

Every single star

is way too far

for it's light to be warm

to make our nights calm

Yet, I still look up

I hope; at least once

I could touch their light

but my hope is useless

they are lost in the night

Will we, on a beautiful summer day,

reach those lights?

Will we find new hope, new life?

New place to live our lives?

O how determined we are to reach something new

and still all these mistakes we redo and redo!

Why do we go on with our war and our strife,

in our hands are the people who still fear and die!

How can we reach stars, if we can't end our fight?

There will be no winner, no loser, no soldier.

There will only be a lonely and a sad child.

Not bad. I really liked the last part. It kinda portrays what happens to wars. How often do fathers come home from wars? Or maybe what Einstein said? " The 3rd World war would be fought with Nuclear weapons but the 4th will be fought with sticks and stones ". It's interesting to say the least. Hehehe :D
