This is a poem I wrote about my feelings of my girlfriend being away at college and me being depressed and unable to share my true feelings with her.

Fall, 2012

Summer nights heat

Mid summer day rain

Old, lonely night

Locked away beneath the surface

a world trapped in a bottle.

The tide comes in

On the full moon night

Washing away the feeling of unity

and reuniting my soul with pain

Agitated with feeding

sorrow with fast

many long weeks

shall these feelings last

deep beneath the surface

an emotional safe

not to be opened.

and in the east

gust and clouds destroy the land

wreaking havoc against all of man

ignorant and free from the sorrows of me

maybe one day

she will eventually see

and until that time, the clock ticks on

the distance matures,

and the more I long.

A world in turmoil

Angry, churning sea

Oh how I wish

You were still here with me.
