The clashing of bitter waves against the rocky shoreline brings back memories of my childhood. I used to come out here all the time with my father when I was a little girl. We used to skip rocks across the waters and watch the sun set behind the waves...

He passed away 3 years ago and every night since then I have come out here to watch the sunset. I this is where I feel at peace again. And as the wind surrounds me, slowly knotting my hair I remember my fathers tender words and how he used to hold me in his arms and tell me he loves me. As I breathe in and smell that slight hint of salt in the evening breeze, I feel a sense of relief take over me..

It’s about that hour when the sun is supposed to start slowly sinking below the captivating ocean which my father loved so much. I watch as the water seems to catch and reflect the suns rays, splashing the sky with multiple shades of golden yellow, fiery red and a sensational orange till it eventually appears to be speckled with white stars and draped behind them, a pitch black sky marked with random gray clouds. For the Sun has said goodbye, and promised to be back again tomorrow, as will I. “Goodnight Dad” I whisper as I head back towards my car to return home. “Goodnight.” The wind whispers back.
