i am splintered, i am broken

i am beaten, i am new

and we curl up in our dreams

of warm sheets and cool decembers

of love and the things within it

that we always seem to pursue

but neverseem tofind, and i

am so torn apart by you

am so alive at the touch of you

am so sure of the parts of you

that you show me in the moments

when you are absolutely sure

of the man you have become and i

am only just a spectator

in the play that is your life

only just a sketch

in the mural of your world

only just a person

in the list of ones you know.

and the idea of loving me

has never crossed your mind.
