Life falls apart

as I stand idly by.

Not like I could do much good

even if I tried.

Once part of life is over

there's no going back.

No chance of thinking

trying a different tact.

Life goes on around

lying in my ear.

Telling me another time

just to disappear.

Backing down is not an option

when life is on the line.

Stand with me for a minute

you'll realize that your fine.

Silver linings just cut

you to your knees.

Another way the world

gets around saying please.

Little hope I have found

in saying what you mean.

No matter what your nose

can't always be clean.

So with another breath I draw

A puff of desperation.

Another night filled with inner tension.

Life falls apart

as I stand idly by.

Not like I could do much good

even if I tried.
