Sooner I learned to fly

I flew in the air

Covered long distances

Most of the time in air

Never wanted to return on ground

I was master of my own wills

I was happy with my life

I saw other birds with beautiful legs

I prayed god to make my legs beautiful

He said no tell another wish

I said give me beautiful long feathers

God fulfilled my wish

I felt eternal bliss

I danced and danced

With feathers wide spread

Every bird was jealous

Then the rain stopped

I waited and waited

Then I decided to return to my nest

I could not fly high

I cannot return to my nest

I had covered a long distance

There are many birds around

Still I feel loneliness

I weep and mourn

When I feel the burden of feathers

I spend days with similar friends

I want to get rid of these feathers

I will have to die with these feathers

Like lover haunted by his beloved’s memories
