You are free here they say,
Ours is the best,
Our values have yet to decay,
That the people rule is no jest,

Yet to protect us,
Certain sacrifices must be made,

To protect the masses,
We must always watch,
Especially those of lower classes,
Before the suffering is taken up a notch,

The children are taught to be blind,
To not ask who and especially not why,
To follow the policies they designed,
To always fear those who spy,

Every word is seen,
Every opinion heard,
Their hearing is keen,
Now we fear even the bird,

If you should dare to not conform,
Then you lose every right,
This they explain as necessary reform,
You cannot appear to be too bright,

But of course it is given a name,
National security they say,
I feel like a pawn in their game,
In the end they own our day.
