Theysaythatatanymomentinanordinarylife,godgivesusafairytale,Iwasgivenafairytale,agreatone,oneworthaNewburymedal.Ithaddemons,happiness,sadness,andwasallaboutagirl.

Thatwasthedaythatagirlhadtakenapieceofmeoutofme,andbrokeit,.Yousee,Ididn'tknowhowtolivewithouteverypieceofme,becauseIhadnevergivenawayapieceofmebefore.Oncethatpiecehadleftme,Ihadopenedupmywallsofdefensethatkeptawaythedemonsofsadness.
Andcomeintheydid.Iwasscared.Iwasemotionallydistraught,theyravagedmefromtheinside,Icouldn'tthink,orevenspeak.
Awisemanoncesaid,"Youhopethewoundshealbuttheyneverdo,that'sbecauseyouratwarwithlove."Iwasabletofinallysitdownwithmyself,andmysoul.Wehadalongdiscussionaboutwhatweneededtodo.Ihadtotellmysoultheonethingthatitwouldhaveneverwantedtohear.Ihadtotellittoleaveme.Icouldn'ttaketheriskofthedemonsgettingtoitandcorruptingit,changingit,andthentakingme.Welookedateachother,mybodyandsoul,tearsrolleddownbothofourfaces,Igrabbedhishand,kissedhisforeheadandwalkedaway.Icouldstillhearthecryingashedriftedaway.
Thenitwasjustme,allaloneinthere,thedemonssensedweakness,andIfought,butIwasnotmatch,Icavedin.ItwastoobadforthemthatIhadnothingtogivethatwasworthtakingfromme,theyhadsuccessfullydoneonethingthough,theymademedeadinside.
Iwasnothing,walkingthroughlifeasahollowshellmakesyouthink.IknewthatIhadonethingthatIcouldactuallydo,andthatwasmakeothershappy.TheonlythingthatmybrainsaidwasifIcouldnotbehappy,Ineedtomakesureothersaroundmewerehappy.Ididn'tcareaboutmyownhappiness,sincetherewasnothingthereworthmakinghappy,andIknewthatonceIhadfinishedmyjob,Icouldmoveontofindmysoulandreunitewithit,andthedemonswouldhopefullypass.
Iwalked,Iwalkedthroughthedarkest,loneliestvalley.Ineverstoppedwalking,andasIwalked,IwouldcontinuallymakesurethatthepeopleImetalongthewaywerehappy,andindoingso,Ineededtoputonafalseface,oneofhappiness,sotheycouldn'tseemyhurtandwonder.
AsIwalked,Isawabrightlight,itwasextremelybright,almostblinding.Uponfurtherinvestigation,Inoticedthatthelightwascomingoffofawoman.Shecametome,lookedatmewithsorrow.AndtoldmethatIneededtostopkeepingpeopleawayandnotlettingthemknowIwashurting.ShehadsaidthatIneededtoletpeopleinside,sotheycouldmakemehappy,andhelpwardoffthedemons.Itoldherandmyselfthatthiswasanonsensestatement,andImovedon.
AsIwalked,itbecamenightfallonceagain,andIfoundabedtorest.Ilaidmyheadonthepillow.Thatnightthedemonshadfoundawaytoinstalldreamsofsorrowintomyhead.Andsotheydid.
Myeyesopened,Iwassittinginaroom,allmyfriendswerethere,anditseemedlikewewerehavingagreattime.Everyonewashappy.Itwasanormalday,oratleastIthought.Aswetalkedon,fromovermyshoulder,thehorridfoulhandofdeathwithhisbonyclawsreachedovermyshoulderandpiercedmychest.Hedugatme,itwastheworstpainIhadeverexperiencedinmylife.Ilookedaround,noonewasnoticingwhatIwasgoingthrough.Hebeganpulling,Itriedtofight,butitwasnouse.Hepulledmebackthroughawall,Ifellintotheblack,theonlythingthatIcouldseewasthesungoingdown.AsIfell,Isawpicturesofthegirlwhobrokemeintheblack,theyappearedeverywhere,Icouldn'tlookaway,orclosemyeyes.
Iwascaught,Iwonderedwhathadstoppedmyfall,Ilookedup,andIwaslookingrightathim.Deathhimselfwasstaringmeintheface.Hiseyeswerehorrible,theywereburnedinmymemoryforever,hehadameangrinonhisface,andheleanedovertome,pointedatthesunasitwentdown,andhesaidinmyear,"takeagoodlookattheendbecauseitsjustonthehorizon."hethenthrewmebackuptotheroomwithallmyfriends,theywerestilltalkingasthoughnothinghadhappened,Ifeltaweirdfeelinginmychest,Ilookeddown,andIsawthatmychestwasblack,butthisblackwasn'tjustanormalblack,therewassomethinghorribleaboutit.IlookedtomyrightandthegirlwhobrokemelookedandaskedifIwasalright,Ilookedup,sighed,andsaid,"yes,everythingisfine,I'malright."andthenIwokeup.
ItoldmyfriendaboutthedreamIhadthatnight,andshetoldmethatitwasjustadream,andeverythingwouldbealright.Ibelievedher.
Icontinuedmyjourneythroughthevalley,andthesadnessdidn'thesitatetofollowbehind,asIwalked,Italkedtothegirlthathadbrokenme,ofcourseshehadn'tknownwhatshehaddone,andIdarednottellherforIfearedthatitwoulddestroymyrelationshipwithher.Shecomfortedwhatwasleftofme.Sheaskedmetoletherin,andlethercomfortmefurther,shesaidthatifIweretoletherin,shecouldhelpmefightwhatwasburdeningme.Itoldherno.Isaiditwouldonlyhurther,andthatwassomethingthatIwasn'tabouttolethappen.Icaredabouthertoomuchto.Icontinuedwalking.Shepartedwithonequestion,"Why?"sheasked,"Whydoyoufeeltheneedtowalkalone?Whydoyouhavetodothis?Why?"ItoldheritwasbecauseIwasdeadinside,andthatmybodyandhearthadonejobtodo,andthatifIletherin,itwouldonlymakethatjobharderforme.
AsIwalked,Igrewtired,Iknewwhatwaswaitingformethough,thedream,butIalsoknewthatthedreamcouldtakenothingfromme,soIfearednothing.
Thedreamwasthesameforthemostpart,buttowardtheend,whendeathhadmeinhisclutches,asIstaredintohiseyes,someonecamedownwithamightyswordandhithim,releasingme.Itwasthegirl,shewastheir,inmydream,fightingoffdeathitself.Deathhadhisanswersforthatthough,andstruckherdown,asIlaidthere,Ilookedather,shewasn'tdead,butshewasdefinitelyhurt.Deathlookedoveratme,andbeganwalkingtowardsme.Iwokebeforehegottome.
AsIsatupfrommybed,Ithought,andthought,andthought,andIknewthattherewasonethingtodo,soIwalkedtothegirl.ItoldherthatIwasreadytoletherin,leteveryonein,andletthespiritofgotakemeforwhatIwas.Itoldherhowshebrokeme,andletthedemonsin.Ialsotoldherhowshefoughtdeathforme.Itoldherthatshewasmyheroine.ItoldherthatIknewthatifIletherin,thatitwouldhurt,butIwouldn'thavetofacethingsalone.Iletherknowthatshewasmorepreciousthengoldbecauseshewasgodsgifttome.Itoldhereverything,andshelistened.
Inowfeelmuchbetter,mysoulandIhavereunited,hohowImissedmysoul,anditmissedmeaswell.AndnoIknowthatlettingotherpeopleinisgoodsometimes.IknowthatIcanalwayswalkaroundhappyknowingthatthereissomeonetheretotohelpmefendoffthedemonsofsorrow.I'mnotalone
