Monday, a Baker came over to me

your muffins sir

are in the tree

pies on the roof

death on the ground

cursing a mouthful all way round

Tuesday, a Butcher came over to see

loins all a-stir

for the jamboree

hogs on the hoof

cheap by the pound

feed their balls to the mangy hound

Wed'sday, a Cooper came over to free

the coil off'a her

but not off'a me

a flatulent spoof

the king is crowned

death's the rott'nest lecher found

Thursday, a Horseman came over to pee

touched by the spur

of the bourgeoisie

given reproof

leapt on the mound

spewed his guts on the picnic ground

Friday, St-George came over the lee

skewer'd the monster

his dog went woof

the dragon frowned

cast in the murky river drowned

Sat'day, the Drunk came over with glee

the gangling cur

to show his flea

I stayed aloof

not to be bound

by the rate for the Irish pound

Sunday, the Reaper was summoned by me

his scythe to de-burr

I had to agree

gave he real proof

broken and browned

my carcass lies o'er un-holy ground
