I had just finished speaking to what I had thought was a friend when I realized how wrong I was.
This was written to a person who kept me around to make himself feel good. How easy it is to climb on a pedestal when you have the backs of your friends to use as a staircase but even easier when your friends are fighting through their own self loathing and willingly lower themselves for you.

I don’t need your smug disapproval
I don’t need your air of superiority
I wallow in dissatisfaction
In my own impurities
I bathe in a pool of self loathing
I soak in a puddle of blood
All of my self imposed afflictions
I pretend I did the best that I could
As I sit in my desperation
Behind my metaphorical wall
I wonder why I am alone
knowing I set my self up for it all
