Among many kinds of different foods celebrated in the United States on National Food Days, missing from the list were ethnic foods, a contribution to the culinary diversity of US. Juggernaut suggests some foods introduced to US by South Asian immigrants to add to the list of National Food Days to celebrate their contribution to the culinary diversity.

The following are some examples of food celebrated annually as National Food Days in America. The list include candies, fruits, nuts, several kinds of meats and many desserts like pies, ice creams, puffs etc. with mention of very few vegetables. Most items on the list were traditional American with very few ethnic foods far in between. Since the United States is truly a multi ethnic society in the world, the contribution of its various immigrant groups to the culinary area shall be recognized by including various ethnic foods to the list of the American National Food days.

March 9 is National Crab Meat Day
