We breathe this air- the scent of lead

We pledge allegiance to the dead

We burn the lands of darker men

And pledge alliance to the red

We sing the songs of violet moons and howl like wraiths below the stars

With answers lost by void refrains and lines lost deep beneath our scars

With stuffed dolls trapped below the floorboards, tiny skirts and ivory bows

With rotting lips and melted eyes that feed our hungry animals

And crimson stains, that drip from bags of sandy teeth and tattered hair

Like faceless girls with shattered voices, trapped below our creaking stairs

We skip through roses, black like ash and sleep on tulips, blue like veins

And swallow acid from the sky, like shots of liquor, as it rains

So mother, sing me ransom notes you keep beneath your pistol clips

And father, wash your switchblade knife, since on the ashen rug, it drips

And sister, slink your noose a bit, since heels will aid in suicide

And brother, slide the window out, since popping pills will make you fly

We breathe this air- the scent of lead

We pledge allegiance to the dead

We burn the lands of darker men

And pledge alliance to the red
