Midnight falls.
As the moon glides into place,
Figures emerge.
They are swift and dark,
Like Shadows.
They dance through the streets,
Moving like otherworldly creatures.
They morph and grow
As if to resemble waves
Rolling across the ocean.
They whisper words,
Secrets only known to them.
Stars twinkle above.
The Shadows expand,
Filling the streets and grass,
Snuffing out street lights,
Sending the world into darkness.
They twirl and grow,
A silent tornado.
Continuing through the town,
Concealing the lights until dawn.
They decrease.
Hiding themselves
As the first rays of light
Peak above the houses.
Time running out,
They creep into nooks and crannies,
Waiting for midnight to return.
