Screams erupt,
Louder and louder,
Drowning out thoughts,
Making the dark seem endless.
My heart is pounding,
My mind is racing,
Death surrounds me.
Faster and faster I run,
Running away from death,
Running away from love,
Running to the only escape.
Moans and more screaming,
Dying and Returning,
The armies growing larger and larger,
Growing stronger and stronger.
Quicker! Faster! Running down the path,
Dodging those who throw themselves at the fence,
Broken fingers curling around the links,
The smell of death everywhere.
I have lost everyone,
My home, my family,
The ones I love most,
Died and Returned.
I’m fighting against friends,
Against neighbors,
Against myself.
I have to keep going,
I cannot stop,
I have to keep moving,
I have to find the ocean,
I have to find life.

You did an amazing job on this one. Could sense the fear and despair in the write. Excellent imagery in this one. Great job! Susan :)
