i roll my neck

thinking of the end

watching her swift pace

making her bottom march

in a tumbling raucous way

*

he inches forward past me

his carves taut

sweat beads line his breathless

"good afternoon"

**

green parrots and fuzzy brown squirrels

white snake inching along someone's fence

a dog, a pet, a threat

i cross the road

***

the poui have gone

dead trees remain

the scandalous pink haze of some new flower

at the exodus point

****

breathe, puff, puff, pant

not too loud

people will thinking you dying

when u just a beginner

*****

have twenty more minutes of this

i'll run down this time

taste the air

cool, flowery with stewed beans

******

Port of Spain lifts her skirt

the savannah is awash with green

her garter of cars running round

the blush of her honey golden thighs

in the hills beyond
