Silent/Listen

Imagine

How different life would be

If instead talking so much

We all started listening

If instead of yelling at someone about something

And blaming them as the cause of it

You just shut up and listened

Perfectly silent.

If instead of being mad at someone

And not hearing their explanation

You became silent and listened

And eliminated a complication

Some of the most brilliant minds

Rarely uttered a word.

They absorbed knowledge through silence

But they were never heard

Even therapists who help patients

They only speak for a little bit

They just sit back in silence and listen

And leave the talking to the patient

Try it for a day

And see what comes to fruition

Stay silent as long as possible

And just listen

Then when your life improves

And you realize how wrong you’ve been

You can avoid the unnecessary drama

And enjoy the peace you’ve been missin’

It’s funny how one small and simple action

Could bring so many others into fruition.

Is it a coincidence that the word silent

Has the same letters as the word listen?
