This poem is about the time I literally feel into darkness, not a place, but a state of existence, but only temporarily. What is described in this poem is not metaphorical, it is describing what I really felt when I fell into slumber.

Pure Darkness and Death by Joseph D. Smith

This tale comes from the darkness,
Pure black and no sound,
Pure quiet and no smell,
Pure darkness and no life,
This darkness, I have fallen into...

I fell into a slumber and into the darkness,
Pure nothing and no space,
So pure it had no substance,
Pure despair and no hope,
This darkness, I have fallen into...

This tale comes from the darkness,
Pure dread and no joy,
Pure nothingness and no breath,
Pure darkness and death,
This darkness, I have fallen into...
