Lea had not asked for much in this life. Orphaned with nothing connecting her to her past except a reoccurring dream and a pearl comb, she was content to eek out an existence as a song bird in Lord Carew's court until the day she saved enough money to escape Surdale. Her best laid plans go array when she meets Prince Emrys of West Haven; a man with music in his soul and sharpness in his tongue. Lea finds herself immediately drawn to him though she knows she could never be worthy of a prince. But, after an unfortunate accident involving Lord Carew, Lea is forced to flee Surdale with Prince Emrys and the attraction she feels begins to spiral out of control. That along with the unexplainable changes she is experiencing makes Lea's new life in West Haven much more dangerous, and potentially deadly than before.

When Lea learns of the political strain between the human kingdoms and the Acayian rulers of the sea, Lea must learn who she is and who she can trust before it is too late.
