In My Head

There is more to me than said
But often I live in my head
Beyond my exterior
My thick skull
Beyond my complexity
Through my eyes
Somewhere in the midst of chaos
There is a world that is my own
There is more to me than seen
Past my pasty skin and knobby knees
Past my thick brown springs
There is a world unknown
A world of abstruseness
A world of anguish
A world of bliss
A world of everything
And of nothing
Inside my head is a world that is my own
If you peaked inside maybe you would sympathize
Or maybe it would just leave you flustered.
Racing thoughts creating run-ons
They say
Who am I  -
Who I want to be?
Are they the same thing?
Am I two or one?
In my head I am exactly as I wish to be
But life isn’t the same as my fantasies
When I’m in my world
I’m heroic and bold the spot light is on me
But outside my world
I feel like an extra in my own movie
I am two not one.
If only I could be turned inside out
and my worlds could be combined
I have to face the fact that it isn’t a possibility
to live in two worlds at the same time
In my world
Time freezes
But life still changes
In my world I’m still the same
On pause always
But life pauses for no one
Leaving me left behind in the dust
Leaving me as two instead of one.
