It was the happiest moment of her life, right there down the aisle, clad in a brilliant dress of white, shining brightly and for all to see. She looks up and smiles, proud of walking there, walking towards her husband-to-be. Everyone is just as equally proud. She chose well. The music starts. It’s Pachelbel’s Canon in D, a classic wedding song, yet all the same, still moving. Her father takes her arms, and I watch her walk, I smile and feel my eyes glisten.

I’m so proud of her. I love her.

Everyone she passes by going to the alter smiles at her or mouths a congratulations. She smiles at them and mouths back a thank you. She looks up ahead again, and my heart just pounds. How beautiful she is, my angel. Her hair so black and fair, and then she smiled. I feel proud at those full lips that I find addicting to kiss to no end. Her skin a pale white, almost sickly, the one she always complained about, the one I always adamantly adored no matter what. And then there were there as they usually are those eyes that told her life’s tale, one I always adored seeing, and watching. I could watch them forever for as long as eternity will allow me to, like an unending beautiful drama.

I want her to be mine. I want her to be mine, right now, just as she always had been.

Moments passes. She steps closer. And everything starts to become so vast. I can’t help holding back my tears anymore. God, how beautiful she is! She is perfection!

She stops.

Her father gives her away.

She takes the hand of her future partner, for now and forever more, for as long as both shall live. For as long as both shall love.

She turns her head a bit somewhere in the crowd of spectators, at me.

My heart breaks.

And that’s when I know it’s over… That it’s too late.

Congratulations on your wedding, my love.
