Oppression sounds like opportunity but they have very different meanings
Why should every third sentence that comes from my lips start with ‘sorry’?
I have always spoken softly or not at all;
lived on the premise that opinions are like calories:
women should have less of them than men
While I have been the same height and weight since I was fifteen,
I can feel myself slowly shrinking,
taking up less and less space
Soon all that will be left is an apology note that reads
Sorry for existing

I am not sorry
I will take up as much space as I possibly can
I will grow as tall as a tree and as wide
as the egos of everyone that has ever made me feel small
I am not a mouse and you are not a cage

I am a person, and you will treat me as such
