Hot oil and water

They fight about most everything
They fight about it all
I always find her weeping
I always see her fall

At first they were unbelieveable
They fell in love so fast
But now it's irretreveable
It's like they'll never last

She fell in love eight years ago
She fell into his eyes
She wanted just to take it slow
And now it's her demise

She walks around on eggshells now
To be right, he'll be the first
She dreamed about her wedding vow
Their relationship now is cursed

Explosive more than ever now
Like hot oil and water
She wants to make it work somehow
But should she even bother?

She used to be so beautiful
And full of life and love
She used to be cheery and joyful
Now she's none of the above

She changed her hair, and life, and clothes
To keep up with his wants
I wish she knew that now it shows
His demands are more like taunts

Her happiness and dreams
Are dwindiling by a thread
To her right now it seems
That she's made her bed

He doesn't care for time with her
He's a boy not a man
Alone time he prefers
She doesn't understand

Explosive more than ever now
Like hot oil and water
She wants to make it work somehow
But should she even bother?

She lays awake at night a lot
She's happy in her dreams
She wishes that they never fought
Too good to be true it seems

Her days are never ending
Her emotions fall apart
She feels a breakup is pending
Will she get a fresh, new start?

She loves this man through and through
But just love's not enough
She needs a chance to renew
She needs to call his bluff

She packs her things and heads on home
Inside she's feeling rough
If he tries to call her phone
She'll say she's had enough

Explosions almost over now
She's calm and cool like water
If you cannot make it work somehow
Why would you even bother?
