Do you not hear it, child?

 

Do you hear it? Listen child, no?

Do you not hear the silence? The aftermath?

Do you not hear the silent weeping of those back home?

Do you not hear the deathly nothingness of war?

Does it not ring like bells, heavy on your heart?

 

Listen, child, for you do not hear the cry of the ‘hero’?

Do you not hear his voice ring out? Sword in hand, shield on arm, he slays his foes, yet…

Once he has vengeance, nothing.

 

Do you not hear it child? The silence of vengeance? The aftermath of war?

 

Do you not hear it child?
