Orginally i wrote this poem for school,it was sort of my rebuttal to Their Eyes Were Watching God By Zora Neale Hurston. I tweaked some of the words, please tell me what you think.

His eyes see everything

From the darkening of my skin

To the brightening of my smile

“Does he not judge thee?”

How should I know?

I ponder for moments and moments

What do I look like through his eyes

A  beautiful girl

With pretty hair

To match

But I need not worry

For I am made in his image

He will protect me and give me courage

Because…

He is always watching

And he always will
