Summary

I wrote this piece realizing that all of us are naive to something. We hide things from ourselves as well do others hide things from us. We should educate ourselves and determine what our own truths are.

Flames protruded through the dark

and then Christopher Columbus discovered my flat world

Overboard into the bellies of many whales

we are traveling to freedom and justice for all for a better living

I pump my fist to the first free black nation

and they survived independent of oppression and strife

War and power win over sanctity

fatality is a just and very inevitable end to the carnage

Our battle is lost against Mister, Uncle

when we realize the true daemons are residing within ourselves

I had a dream that I wouldn't reach the mountaintop

now convinced that my commander-in-chief was not born of this land

Virgin rape cures HIV in this world

so intrigued, therefore human trafficking must cure rape

On my way to work, I landed six feet under

violence is not cataclysmic it's protection and absolutely necessary
