A poem I wrote a looong time ago and posted on my MySpace... It's never seen the light of day, really.

Dragons dancing in the night
Weaving their paths in life
Wandering through my dark heart's plight
Trying to leave behind the strife
The strife of the burdens life will give
The pains of letting go
To all of those who live
Very few of us know
Know what it's like to hide away
Never show your true face
Hide yourself away each day
Never knowing if this is the place
The place that you truly belong
You wonder if it's true
You wonder how long
How long until others see the real you
Distant, reserved, and cold
This is our tale
This is a tale of old
The story of the dragon's wail
Heard in the night
A lonely cry heard by few
Fierce is the dragon's might
But only to those who knew
Those who see our true face
See for what we are
They see us pass by in a daze
They see that in our heads we are far
Far away, where no one knows
What we truly feel
Far away, where only we go
And where we go to deal
Deal with all the sadness
And pain that our lives bring
Deal with all the madness
That seems to always ring
Ring, ring, ring aloud
That no one really hears
Ringing sadness in the clouds
That is not heard by many ears
This is a tale of old
Much older than this land
A story never told
A story of our stand
We dance at night
For then we can be free
Others regard us with fright
They curse us as they flee
Dragons dancing in the night
We dare to dream of love
Dragons swirling with our might
We dare to dream of seeing the white doves
