It’s pretty painful to be nocturnal
Sleeping through the day
Causes the night to seem even more
But I adore the dark
Gentler than the sweetest kiss
Caresses of honey, spice, and bliss
All never quite reaching the same mark.
There’s raw beauty and unrivaled power in the night
Bountiful heat, endless static, freed inhibitions,
All reign supreme with their ferocious might.
But you plague my love and judge her
Label her, hurt her, brand her
Again and again.
Because only evil runs in the night
Or so you say
And thus my love is deemed a cur.
There can be both darkness and light,
Equals things in a balanced spectrum
But you don’t seem to accept harmony,
You won’t accept what is right.
So cast me and my kin away,
Banish us to our inky mother
It is there we shall grow, there we shall play, it is there we shall stay
What are options? We have no other.
