Sweet Nothings You’ll Never Hear

Oh my darling,
My dearest,
My beloved one,
Your laugh and smile brings a joy now where my life previously had none.

Oh my heart’s sweet,
My beautiful,
My babe,
For you alone my heart I’ll save.

Such promises and such pillow talk.
Words you’ll never hear.
You never took the time to listen,
You never learned how close you were to me, my dear.

I bore the augmenting affection with silence and smiles,
Deaf you were, you had ears only for their wicked wiles.
Never did the adoration diminish nor did my grin crack,
I could only watch as you destroyed yourself with the aid of those who lived to drive you back.

Was it me who was mute or you who is blind?
You stay in danger and run from protection
My precious pet, my fondness is not an affliction.
Have I become the malady in their stead? Is this why you’ve ensured my demise? Was it meant to be this red?

Oh my adversary,
My rival,
My ever-challenging foe,
Look what the nothings and pillow talk have to done to me, never have I thought you could possibly sink so low.

Oh my opponent,
My enemy,
My antagonist,
Don’t you see you’ve become their envisioned narcissist?

[Ten, two-five, two-ten, I don’t think I’ll smile ever again.]
