I've given writing in prose a go, it's probably not very good, but contemplating the meaning of our existence is something we have all done at least once I am sure.

What is the meaning of life?

This is a question asked for thousands of years, and many answers have cropped up, but none seem to stick; not really. If we are born to live forever, why do we have to die? If we are to become one with the earth, why do we damage it so? If we live to create more life, where does the cycle begin and end? What is that new life’s purpose, and if it is the same, what is the life that grows from that really for?

 What is our purpose?

To better ourselves, each other or the other things that live and breathe alongside us? There is no straightforward answer to this question it seems, as if we better ourselves we have to leave it behind at the end, and if it to better each other, what is there to make better, if we are all going to die at some stage later on? If it is to better the other things that live alongside us in our lives, then surely they must have a purpose too?

To quote lyrics from Falling In Reverse: “If we’re all born to die and we all die to live, then what’s the point of living life if it just contradicts?” In truth, life does seem to contradict itself, we live to die, yet we try so hard to cling to life for the decades that we live for.

To find a purpose in life, maybe that is our ultimate purpose. To find that crucial thing that we need to do, the reason we are here today, to find that purpose. Another contradiction maybe, or an inception -  a purpose in a purpose, but it is one I intend to follow until I am once more dead.
