If peace is real, why does it not present itself? Why does it refuse to manifest in us all? Why does it hide?

Peace is not real

In life that is real

It is an illusion

That pulls on our imagination

It tugs and whispers

Gives false hope

To kill it off

In its mocking absence

From suburban homes

To a global scale

It taunts

It refuses to take hold

From gunfire outdoors

To plain fists in the home

Peace never lasts

Peace is a lie
