Don't try to fix what isn't broke

If I say I'm fine, I'll say no more

The question repetitive

The answer the same

I'm sick and tired of faking the smiles

Never saying what's in my mind

I don't want to but I play that game

It's easier than explaining the scars inside.

I'll keep it all shut up in that secret place

If something's wrong it won't be said

It'll be locked there with tears unshed

I won't ever let you hear those terrible things

Those shadows of myself that whisper to me

In the darkness when I try to sleep

The nightmares that follow me in troubled slumber

All locked up in that breaking box...
