You tell me not to talk this way

The way I've talked for years now

The accent that stayed with me when I left

The only thing I have left from the south

I don't understand what you mean

When you say “You are not Somerset”

Because it is my home, even moved north

I still cannot call this home mine

You tell me I shouldn't consider it home

But I've nowhere else to call my home

Memories are still crystal clear from my old life

Memories I do not wish to leave behind

If I don't belong where I wish to be

In the place that has made me as I am

Where do I belong? Who am I?

These are questions you cannot answer

“You are not Somerset,” you say,

You say I am not who I was

But I am not Worcester either,

So I am nowhere and I am nothing
