Everyone, at some point in life, encounters someone who makes them rather die than go a moment without them. Heartbreak is unevitable in life.

My heart isn’t fond any longer,

My being feels misplaced,

I am not who I was.

You killed me within,

Made me a merciless woman.

I used to heed with every ounce of my heart,

I was the one who reached for you while I cried,

Held you while you sulked.

We desired each other

Night and day,

No matter the season.

I laughed once,

Could smile and it be significant,

Genuine,

Beautiful.

I lived for you,

Through you,

You felt the same,

Well,

Pretended you did.

Such a devious character,

Your momma would be dissatisfied in you.

You left as if you were a thief in the night,

But you were.

You fled and took my heart with you,

Captured my essence and left my comatose body here,

To pretend that I’m sane.

Sanity is understanding,

It means I should accept this calamity,

Welcome it with slightly opened arms.

It’s time to lock the rest out,

With the key to my core that you took with you,

I cannot accept what is inevitable,

Even if it has happened for a reason.

Existence does not take place without people,

And I do not persist without you.
