Time, it watches us from distances

It keeps us under wraps

Time, it pushes us onward

It keeps us running laps

Its the prodding from behind

The demon we can't ignore

Its the thing we try to run from

The thing that shoves us closer to the door

Time is like a pendulum

We're always wary of where it sways

Time is like a black hole

Only for so long can we keep it at bay

So we count the passing minutes

We chase the depleting hours

We memorize the precious seconds

Though we know soon it will devour

We try to fit in all that we can

If only just for a little longer

We know its only a matter of time

Just a little longer
