Your Head Against My Arrhythmic Heart

Windows of a near charred black brown
Of which you used to see
Your head against my heart’s arrhythmic pound
Which cradled you to sleep delicately
The sea piled and sloshed o’er the sand
Your head sleepily, soundlessly against my arrhythmic heart
I sprouted the courage and I took your hand
And we said ‘til death do us part
There were Pink Camellias open and unabashed
The monarchs flooded to them sprightly and wild
It seemed my arrhythmic heart nearly skipped all the way past
When you joyously confided in me that you were good with child
The sheets were tainted a terrible ruby red
I will never let you go and I refuse to grow apart
Our child is born tiny and crying and has left you chilled and dead
And I will never move your head away from my arrhythmic heart
