If I were a leader of a free world, the first issue I would address would be racism and discrimination. The definition of racism is the hatred or intolerance of another race or other races; the definition of discrimination is having a bias outlook on something or someone else. These words mean different things but when they are combined they lead to many problems of the world today.

A free world would be a world where people have the ability to choose how they want to live their life. If people get to choose their own rights, they should be happy. They should not have to worry about anything. Racism is a major problem in today’s society. As Martin Luther King Jr. once said “I  have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

He died protesting for everyone to have equal rights. He was shot by a man that was so selfish; he believed that only his ideas on the world were correct. He could not even accept the fact that someone else was disagreeing with him.

No man is more important than any other; that is the message given to us in the Constitution, and in the Bible. Instead of people listening to that message, they treat everyone else disrespectfully. People judge each other by the color of their skin or by their backgrounds; not for whom they really are but who they want them to be. This has become such an immense concern because even the children of the world have been criticized and bullied because of the color of their skin or by things that are not even important. They have grown up in a world where there is hatred and self judgment; waking up to the thought of not wanting to go to school because they fear people who make mean comments or remarks. Kids sometimes do not even know who to trust. Another huge problem that has come up in the past involving racism is the fact is that many people get killed due to their color. Important leaders during the 50’s and 60’s did nothing to resolve this issue. And even in our day and age things like this are still happening.

When you put yourself in the situation of the people getting bullied or beaten because of their color, why would you not want to do everything in your power to help them? Who wants to be told where they have to sit on a bus or which drinking fountain they are allowed to drink out of? Especially since the only thing that is different about them is the darkness of their skin.

There are many different types of discrimination. Discrimination can happen in many different types of ways; they can be very subtle and not so subtle. One very important type is religious discrimination. Just because someone is a Muslim does not mean they are a terrorist. Everyone needs to stop judging everybody else. Why does someone else’s religion even concern you?

I would solve this problem by addressing the issue with a world-wide campaign. This may not solve the issue completely; there is always going to be that one person that disagrees with everyone else. I would propose such a great solution that no one can say no to. Wars are usually caused because of the people themselves. Peace and self-balance is a great mindset that can get rid of many different problems. People have different perceptions on life but they should all be accepting.

People do not see that everyone has a soul and God created everyone with equal rights. Everyone needs to accept each other for themselves and not judging them about anything else. Innocent people just want a peaceful life without getting their feelings bruised or hurt. Is that too much to ask?
