I wrote this back when I was in seventh grade, at age 13. I still believe in the things I've posted here, and I hope you get a sense of my views on discrimnation.

All Blood Runs Red

Don't all our bloods run the same color?
The color of crimson?
It doesn't matter if you're black, red, brown, or white
.It doesn't matter if you're Germen, Cherokee, Indian, or African.
It doesn't matter if you're Jewish, Catholic, Christian, or Protestant.
Have you ever heard the saying,
"Blood runs thicker than water?"
It is true, we're all the same on the inside.
Just because you're different than me on the outside,
I won't mind, because

All Blood Runs Red.

I believe we are all equal,
At least in mind and heart.
Who cares if you're white?
Who cares if you're Jewish?
Who cares if you're Cherokee?
Just because you're so different,
I won't mind, because

All Blood Runs Red.

Why can't everyone see things like me?
Is it because I'm just a kid?
What does that have to do with wisdom or kindness?
I'm not experienced enough?
I've seen things that most adults,
Just ignore.
Few see the way I do.
Color and Race matter more,
Than your mind and heart.
But yet, isn't it true,
That a black French pilot had the words
"All Blood Runs Red"
On his plane in W.W.I?
We all have a place, and a right,
In the world.
And yet, even though,
America is the land of the free
where all are "equal",
We are not equal.
Why?
Because we're all different.
Skin, race, ancestors.
Yet, "children" like me,
see none of these.
Why is that?
Why does it seem,
Children see things more clearly,
Than adults?

All I can say to you now is,
I'm a mix of people.
I'm German, I'm Norwegian.
I'm Scottish, I'm American,
I'm Native American;
I'm human.
And my Blood,
Every gallon,
Every quart,
Every pint,
Every cup,
Every ounce,
is Red.

How can anyone see nothing but color and race?
