Another prompt, it's a sad tale involving a woman named Laney and her two kids Mitchell and Isabella

The choking smell of fire filled Laney’s lungs as she sprinted through the forest. Black-gray smoke coiled up from the forest behind her house. Her son Mitchell and her daughter Isabella were in the tree house that their father had built before he was sent away in the army. She was a new mother, her twins only six years old. Her husband’s pride and joy before he left. “Mitchell, Isabella!” she screamed. It wasn’t that far from their house or so it seemed. She remembered when little Mitchell and Isabella were born, how they promised to protect them. They treated them like they were little fragile pieces of living glass. Maybe, because they were their first children. By now Laney was out of breath, sweat rolling down her forehead. The roaring sound of the flames came closer, as did a thick wall of smoke greeted her, she gave a hoarse cough, “Mitchell, Isabella!” she coughed resting her hands on her knees as she coughed squinting through the smoke. She had only been to their tree house two times since Stanley had built it. In truth they weren’t even supposed to be at the tree house, she had been furious when she found a lollipop wrapper with the words “tree house” written in ketchup on the swing. “Mitchell, Isabella, baby please!” she cried coughing, a mixture of salty sweat and tears rolled down her face, her face streaked with black from the combination of smoke and sweat. She trembled with panic and fear . The roaring sound came closer, she could see the devil’s face in the peak of the flames. Devishily, smiling at her with that flickering orange face and those flaming red eyes. She started running forward again; a flaming tree collapsing behind her with a dieing groan. “Mitchell, Isabella!” she cried again. From somewhere within the roaring flames the faint sound of “mommy” came from nearby. “Mitchell, Isabella, keep calling, mommy’s coming babies”she called out struggling to keep her voice. Soon enough they were found near the raging fire. Mitchell’s red crying face was poked out the window. “Mitchell, Isabella, mommy’s here!” she cried, climbing up the ladder. Two sobbing children eagerly crawled over to her. Isabella, the little blonde, reached her first snuggling her soot and tear stained face against her mother’s shoulder. “C’mon Mitchell baby” she said trying to coax him over, he was halfway there when a flaming tree crashed down on the tree house making the little blonde boy fall through the hole the flaming tree had made. The boy landed with a small thud. “Mitchell!” Laney screamed, climbing down the ladder to the forest floor. Scooping the boy up who was crying from fear and shock. The two children bounced in her arms as she sprinted back through the forest. The flames from fallen flaming trees caught her shirt igniting the back of her body, by the time Laney, Mitchell, and Isabella had tumbled into the yard Laney was halfway engulfed in flames. The children darted into the house to call 911,then went sprinting down the neighborhood calling for help, but by the time the neighbors put Laney out with a hose she was gone from this world.
