pretend that it isn't all real

that the place that you're going is just another opportunity

for failure.

an addict can never be cured, my friend.

the addiction calls.  it

gnaws at you

peeling away your every denial

clawing from the inside out

every secret

somehow

that addiction

owns it.

pretend that you can

drown

and fall

and cry

and be free

in the music

yeah, pretend.

yeah, pretend.

yeah, pretend.

on repeat

to keep the illusion to last

for as long as your mind will be strung

tighter and tighter

until it snaps.

and lets you go.
