A A A

over and over

my life’s such a bore

everything’s the same

dreary old chore.

school is no different

studying things i don’t like

failing my classes

each F the third strike.

i hate math and history

i like speaking and reading

but with numbers and letters

i just end up bleeding.

i get lost in the subject

swimming in letters,

until i drown in the dark,

can’t my grammar be betters?

these subjects confuse me

they’re always the same

homeroom, then classes

afterschool is no game.

homework then facebook

then sleep time follows through

it’s such a routine

i don’t know what to do.

i dream of breaking free

of doing something unlike

the rest of my day

and just take a hike

and do something different

do something fun

do it for the journey

not to be done.

i’m tired of reason

and tired of thought

must there always be an answer

to the question you sought?

i dream of just being

something not same

being able to reach out

and finally

break the rhyme.
