what if we all

just didn’t exist

waiting for the day

that time just fits?

the work that we labored

the time that we spent

the money we earned

the moments we lent

to people who knew us

and we knew them well

who caught us and pushed us

to stand when we fell.

what if we woke up

and it was all just a dream

would you re-live your life

fit to the seam?

living in perfection

never making a mistake

learning from the day

you decided to wake.

or would you realize

that what makes it worth while

is the mistakes we had made

to frown and to smile.

the fall on the ground

the time in the dirt

life is about

enduring the hurt.

so if you had a chance,

a clean, new, blank slate

would you go back to sleep

Or live up to the date?
