A powerful expression of the frustrations of being with someone, but being totally unsatisfied. It's a reflection on what it means to be yourself and how we try to fit it all into a box that will never be able to contain it. We need something, someone, bigger than ourselves to believe in.

I've always been the one to know
Only one line in a bunch of songs
And I'm really trying so hard to understand
Exactly who I'm called to be.
I'm anxious and selfish but we all are sometimes.
What did Dexter do to me?
I'm upset and I don't know why because
I'm the girl who has everything.
And I'm asking
Why does this have to be a game of hot and cold?
Right around exit 111 I'm feeling ignored
But it's a cuddle and mingle world.
It's a familiar skyline that you want nothing to do with.
It's waiting for your knight in shining armour
To ride up and save the day.
It's braiding hair at 2 am and wishing.
It's tear-stained faces and puddles at your feet.
It's immersing yourself in color, wonder, beauty and emotion
Then painting it.
It's being barefoot and beautiful,  for once.
It's about prayers being seen and promises being kept.
Its surrendering.
How great is our God? Sing with me.
