A A A

A warped image of reality hangs above asphalt.
Calves slice through the dry distortion,
A arm hangs parallel to the pavement
But against the flow of faces looking any other way.

A thousand bare feet stomp their rhythm in the dust.
They grind sweat downwards,
The earth flies upwards.
Nothing is created nor destroyed.

Wet breath clings to the skin beneath an ear.
Digits tremble with anticipation,
A maelstrom of needs and nerves churns,
Circling somewhere near the heart.
