For a moment she stopped to let the air slowly collect in her lungs in an attempt to slow her heart beats pounding in her chest.

For a moment time stopped as she opened her eyes to see him standing in the doorway as a smile slowly melted onto his lips.

They both stood unmoved, seconds now years, as they aged under the thick layer of time that rested uncomfortably against them.

He hasn't seen her sense that day.

Time weighed heavily against their shoulders, like a black smoky spirit that followed them from birth.

It grinned through hurt and bad decision, slowly pulling on their skin and sinking in their eyes.

Clapping as they travel like zombies and dance for his pleasure in the cruel game time created called "life".

She hasn't seen him sense that day.

Lately time has sat in the corner contemplating all that has been said and done.

No longer clapping, no longer grinning, no longer forcing anyone to dance

Because now she wakes, and shuffles, and sleeps in a world that time can't touch. A world where no one has the final note.

They haven't seen each other sense that day.

The day of crashes and screams and tears and pain.

The day that love died and time officially stopped.
